Morning Drop-Off Reminder & Breakfast Program Information

Good Monday Morning, Cedar Trails Family!

As we continue settling into the new school year, I want to thank you for your patience and partnership during our morning arrival procedures.

This year, we shifted our schedule so that classroom doors open at 9:10 a.m. (per contract), with student drop-off beginning at 9:05 a.m. Our goal is to provide a safe, efficient arrival process for all students while minimizing traffic congestion.

Morning Drop-Off Reminders:

To help keep traffic moving safely, please remember the following:

• Pull all the way forward in the drop-off lane.
• Remain in your vehicle while dropping off students.
• Say final hugs and goodbyes before arriving at the drop-off area so students can exit promptly.
• Stay off your phone while driving through school arrival areas (and while driving in general).
• If your child needs extra assistance, additional time, or is having a difficult morning, please park in our main parking lot and walk your child across the crosswalk rather than stopping traffic in the drop-off lane.
• Please drive SLOWLY.
• For student safety, children should exit from the passenger side whenever possible.

Washington State Child Passenger Safety Law:

 Washington State law requires:

• Children must ride in a car seat or booster seat until they reach the seat's height and weight limits.
• Children under age 13 should ride in the back seat.
• Most elementary-age students should still be riding in a booster seat until they properly fit in an adult seat belt.
• Children should remain buckled until the car comes to a complete stop in the drop off lane.

Please review your child's car seat and booster seat needs to ensure compliance with state law and to maximize student safety. 

Parking Lot Reminder:

The back bus loop parking lot is reserved for buses and school operations and is not available for family drop-off or pick-up before or after school. Please use the designated parent drop-off area or visitor parking spaces in our main parking lot area.

Breakfast Available at Cedar Trails: 

Did you know that Cedar Trails offers a school breakfast program?

Beginning at 9:05 a.m., students may access breakfast served through the Issaquah School District Food Services program. According to the Issaquah School District, breakfast at participating elementary schools, including Cedar Trails, includes:

• An entrée
• A choice of two fruits
• Milk
• Hot breakfast options offered at least twice each week

Breakfast is free for students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals. For students who do not qualify, the current breakfast cost is $3.00 per meal.
